Renting with KEYS

Clear from application to moving day

Once your application is provisionally accepted, we will guide you through the administration required before your tenancy begins.

This may include appropriate credit information, employer and previous-landlord references and confirmation of your entitlement to occupy the property.

Your tenancy agreement will be issued electronically and, before you move in, a detailed schedule of condition with supporting photographs will be prepared.

You then have seven days after receiving the report to propose amendments, helping establish a clear record of the property's condition at the beginning of your tenancy.

During your tenancy

If your home is fully managed by KEYS, our relationship does not end when we hand over the keys.

Our local team remains available during office hours to help with property and tenancy matters, coordinate maintenance where appropriate and provide practical support throughout your tenancy.

Because we manage the property directly, you are dealing with people who know the home and understand the tenancy rather than being passed unnecessarily from person to person.

For urgent property matters in KEYS fully managed homes, tenants also have access to a 24-hour emergency contact service.

Looking after your home

Good communication makes a difference

If something needs attention, please tell us as soon as possible. Early reporting can prevent a small maintenance issue becoming a larger one and helps us arrange the appropriate response.

From time to time, we will also arrange property inspections for fully managed homes. These help us keep landlords informed about the general condition of the property and identify visible maintenance concerns.

When it's time to move on

At the end of a managed tenancy, KEYS carries out a check-out against the original check-in report, recording the property's condition and taking account of fair wear and tear.

Where necessary, we obtain supporting information and assist with proposed deposit deductions through the MyDeposits Jersey process.
